Two dreams felt to be one total experience.
Dream1
Rome: Over wide roads and viaducts I see the city. All domes of churches. Magnificent! Next, I am standing in front of those enormous cathedrals with several high arches. I walk, stride, hover over a stair which leads to nowhere. For a moment I look at a preacher, but then I walk and hover over stairs and bridges. It is all very beautiful and everything is as it should be. Although it is a limited space, still it is infinite to me.
Dream2
I am sleeping on the couch and I am dead tired. Then the bell rings. I know I have to get up to open the door. I am trying to do so, but I can't manage, because I feel glued to the bed by some kind of chewing gum. Again, the bell rings. Somewhere from the house Mother is shouting: "Go and open the door! Hurry up!" I could weep. I would like to go but I really can't. It seems as if my Mother's voice has made the gum even tougher and stronger. I don't see her, but I know that she is furious. Desperately I keep wrestling and wake up then.

You are very astute to recognize that these two dreams are related. Your dreams very eloquently express a dilemma within yourself: The desire for freedom of self-expression while being restrained by the familiar security of your present circumstances.
Your first dream correlates strongly (.74) with Life Element 1. Imperial Rome was the center of secular power, and later, was the center of religious power in the western world. Your desire for "writing stories/painting with words" empowers you. Your tour of the city is symbolic of breaking free of restrictions or inhibitions. You have some apprehension as you reach to open the door. You wonder if you really want to know what is on the other side. Simply opening the door will allow you to know. It requires courage and resolution. You know you must act and fling the door open.
Caveat:Some personalities (from Jungian psychology) prefer open options, keeping things open and fluid. This personality is apt to experience resistance to making a decision, wishing that more data could be accumulated as a basis for the decision. When this personality type makes a decision, there may be a feeling of uneasiness and restlessness. It is difficult to say if this is reflected by the second Life Issue, "the chaos in myself" or if the "chaos" represents conflicting desires. Answer the door and find out.
